Art School reopens!

 

We are happy to announce reopening of all classes the week of August 15, 2021. Face coverings are still required but we are looking forward to see everyone again!

Studio tours reopened !

As of May, we are starting to conduct studio tours for those who are on the wait list since pandemic started. Our preliminary goal ( assuming no surprises in Covid management ) is to reopen all classes with the new academic school year at the end of August. It will be wonderful to see each other again and create some awesome art !

School Update

Covid update ....Light at the end of the tunnel? 

We are still closed due to Covid pandemic, however we grow more hopeful every week (probably along with you) for the vaccine being available to anybody and Covid finally getting under control this summer. That will allow the door of our school to open up again with the new School Year, fingers crossed.

As we get closer to it, we will contact all of you with the opening date and scheduling.

For now, stay positive and healthy in this last stretch of this exhausting marathon.

Although our School remains closed, we are optimistic about new vaccines and hope we will be able to start our classes again in the Spring 2021. 

In the meantime we wish to all of our students and their families Happy Holidays, safe and healthy New Year and lots of inspiration! Sending virtual hugs and hope to be creating together again soon! 

Art School Opening Update

Dear parents/students, 

Our August update is very simple - we remain closed for now. Why? Well, the main reason is this:

That curve of Allen county status doesn’t look very satisfactory. The other reason is that we are waiting to see what opening schools will bring. 

In the meantime, we work on all kinds of improvements to get ready for the day when we do open again to make our classes as safe as we can.

HOW WE MAKE OUR CLASSES SAFE

In order to follow all local, state and federal Covid -19 recommendations, we are working on all kinds of changes, improvements and additions. Our student’s safety is our priority and we will do all we can to keep everybody safe. That’s our promise! This is what we are doing to achieve that goal: 

Security Camera 

Security camera was installed to make sure that access to the building is only for scheduled students. Entry and communication with anybody else is done through built-in speakers, without physical access to premises.

Face masks 

Face masks covering mouth and nose are required upon entry. No exceptions! If there are students who can not wear face masks because of medical reasons, we will not be able to accommodate them at this time for in person lessons.

Sanitizing Station 

Each student will be checked for temperature and any signs of sickness followed by hand sanitizer application right after entry. Shoes will stay in entry hall as this rule has been in effect already for the last 23-years.

New Paint

We gave our classroom new coats of fresh paint and replaced all electrical wiring.

New Carpet

Subfloor has been leveled , new premium hypoallergenic pad and new carpet installed.

 

Air Purifier

Classroom was furnished with a new Air Purification Unit with 3 stage True Hepa Activated Carbon filter. Manufacturer claims that unit “removes 99.97 percent of particles”.

Air Conditioning & Furnace

Building is now furnished with the most efficient solar power-ready single stage LENOX XC 17 air conditioner and furnace. “Humiditrol - Healthy climate “system is minimizing mold, mildew and airborne pollutants filtered by advanced Space Guard high efficiency air cleaner. Thanks to the innovative Lenox technology of it’s variable capacity system, it provides CONTINUOUS classroom air circulation and filtration.

 

Improved Classroom Space

We eliminated two work stations to allow for more social distance between students. Also removed are all extra items including furniture, portfolios and easels . Classroom now contain only absolutely necessary art supplies and work stations. 

Work Stations

Each work table has been cleaned or replaced and extended 25 to 50 percent, allowing for much more personal space without feeling “squeezed in“.

Plexiglass Protectors

Every single workstation is protected from 3 sides. We installed plexiglass sheets 24 inches high and 48 inches long, creating personal enclosed areas for each student with social distance from another person of at least 6 feet. With perfectly clear plexiglass, it actually feels very open, so everybody is still part of our group, not feeling separated. As you can see, we are quite proud and exited about all the changes we did to protect everybody. It is the single most important item in potential reopening success of our art school. We continue to think of any additional improvements as science behind Covid-19 develops and we will keep you updated about any future steps.
